VOLUNTARY organisations looking for funding are invited to a fair at Carlton's Richard Herrod Centre this month.
Richard Herrod Leisure Centre
The aim of the fair is to help and encourage voluntary organisations to find funding opportunities. Organisations will also be able to get advice on the best ways to apply for help.
The event is open to any voluntary sector groups, including those working in play, sports, youth, arts, health, environment and open spaces. Many of the funders will support school and parish council projects in the community.
The fair is organised by Gedling Borough Council and Gedling Council for Voluntary Service (CVS).
The event, which will be held on 21 January at the Richard Herrod Centre in Carlton and will include some of the region's largest grant giving bodies including The Big Lottery fund, who are also involved in organising the fair.
Other contributors to the day include Nottinghamshire County Council's Community and Voluntary Sector Team (Sport Nottinghamshire, the Santander Foundation and many more).
Councillor Kathryn Fox, Portfolio Holder for Community Development said; "This is an opportunity for any voluntary organisations and community groups in the borough to speak with experts and get help with funding. In a difficult economic climate, many organisations think that they can't get help, but there are organisations out there who are committed to supporting voluntary organisations."
Any organisations that would like to register an interest can do so by contacting Gedling CVS on 0115 987 1981 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
